Trek the rooftop of the world for Parkinson's in 2010
18 December 2009
The Parkinson's Disease Society is looking for people to join
Trek Nepal, one of our most exciting fundraising events of
2010.
I am delighted to hear that the Parkinson's Disease Society has organised a trek in Nepal.
The team of trekkers will climb the Himalayas between 25
November and 5 December 2010 to raise vital funds to help
people affected by Parkinson's.
Endorsed by Michael Palin
Actor, comedian and presenter of BBC's Himalaya, Michael Palin
spent 6 months trekking the region and is supporting our
fundraising trek. Michael comments:
"I am delighted to hear that the Parkinson's Disease Society has
organised a trek in Nepal.
"It is a
tough challenge but the reward is feeling, literally, on top of the
world."
Surround yourself for 10 days with beautiful scenery, friendly
people and fascinating temples in the shadow of the Annapurna
mountain range.
Take a challenge in a country which is home to 8 out of 10 of
the world's highest mountains, and enjoy outstanding views of the
Himalayas at the summit.
Registration
Registration for Trek Nepal costs £299. Each trekker needs to
raise a minimum of £2,900 in sponsorship, which will also cover all
flights, accommodation and hotel fees.
Anyone over the age of 18 and of reasonable fitness is welcome
to take part in the trek.
Trek Nepal will help us continue our work supporting people with
Parkinson's and funding cutting edge research to find better
treatments, and ultimately a cure for Parkinson's.
