2010 Mervyn Peake Awards open for entry

The 2010 Mervyn Peake Awards, which celebrate the creative talents of people with Parkinson's, are open for entry.

I would thoroughly recommend that anyone with Parkinson's join this prestigious annual celebration of the power of art to heal.

We invite anyone with Parkinson's in the UK to get involved by submitting work in the following 3 categories:

  • Art
  • Poetry
  • Photography

Whether you are an experienced artist or you simply want to try something new, the Mervyn Peake Awards are the perfect opportunity to pick up your paintbrush, pen or camera and start creating.

The deadline for entries is Wednesday 31 March 2010.

Paul Jackson-Clark, Fundraising Director of the Parkinson's Disease Society, adds:

Mervyn Peake

The late illustrator, writer and poet Mervyn Peake (1911-1968), who had Parkinson's, was famed for his imaginative creations including Gormenghast and his Alice in Wonderland illustrations.
