GMTV's John Stapleton supports the World Parkinson Congress
26 July 2010
GMTV presenter
John Stapleton has lent his support to the World Parkinson Congress 2010 (WPC), which
is coming to the UK for the first time later this year.
John has issued a statement urging people connected to Parkinson's to go to the conference, which is
aimed at everyone from healthcare professionals and scientists to
those living with the condition and their carers.
John, whose mother had Parkinson's, said:
"It's really exciting to know that the Congress will bring
together scientists and healthcare professionals and make
Parkinson’s a priority issue around the world.
"A breakthrough that just makes the condition easier to live
with would make a huge difference to all those who have it and all
those who care about them.
"I urge anyone connected to or interested in Parkinson’s to go
to the World Parkinson Congress and be part of the movement for
change.”
About the World Parkinson Congress
I urge anyone connected to Parkinson's to be part of the movement for change.
The World Parkinson Congress will take place from 28
September to 1 October 2010 in Glasgow.
The 4-day congress will cover the latest scientific research
from around the world.
Delegates will be able to learn about all aspects of life
with Parkinson’s, including treatments, alternatives to drugs,
neuroprotection and gene therapy.
We are a key partner of the World Parkinson Congress. Other
partners include the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation and the
Michael J. Fox Foundation in the
US.
Steve Ford, our Chief Executive, comments:
"It's really exciting to be involved in the WPC and we’re really
grateful to John Stapleton for his support.
"The WPC will showcase the latest developments in the world of
Parkinson’s and will bring together the global Parkinson’s
