Parkinson's and the genetic revolution
This issue's feature article is 'Parkinson's and the genetic
revolution'.
We explore how the genetics boom has changed our understanding
of Parkinson's, and hear from
researchers who are pioneering this exciting research.
Our feature article is 'Parkinson's and the genetic revolution'.
We also highlight the vital role that people affected by Parkinson's play in our research.
Over the last 10 years the field of genetics has exploded.
And now, advances in technology mean that scientists are
learning more about our genes and what they do inside our bodies at
record pace.
One of the central themes of our research
strategy is to understand why nerve cells die in
Parkinson's - as understanding this could hold the key to a
cure.
Highlighting the role our supporters play in research
In this issue we also highlight the vital role that people
affected by Parkinson's play in our research.
Without our dedicated research supporters raising much-needed
funds, pledging their brains for research and taking part in
studies, the research we do just wouldn't be possible.
If you feel inspired by the work our supporters, there
are lots of ways that you can get
involved in our research.
