benefits
19 August 2009
Have your say on important proposals for social care
reform as part of the Government's Big Care
Debate. If you have Parkinson's, care for someone with
Parkinson's or are a friend or family member, we would like to
hear your views through our
Big Care Questionnaire
The Government has
outlined their proposals for social care reform in
the Green Paper, Shaping the
Future of Care Together
The Green Paper covers England but has huge implications for the
whole of the UK, particularly in the light of proposals to abolish
Attendance Allowance.
A National Care Service
The Government has proposed to change the way social care is
funded and delivered, through the introduction of a National Care
Service in England.
This would address many inequalities in social care around the
country. These inequalities currently mean that many
people with Parkinson's miss out on essential support.
The future of Attendance Allowance
Plans by the Government include proposals to scrap
Attendance Allowance to help pay for these reforms.
We want to make sure that the Government understands the impact
such a radical change could have on you.
