Brain Donor Appeal wins PR Week Award

The Parkinson's Disease Society's
Brain Donor Appeal has won the PR Week Award 2009 for
best not for profit campaign in the Corporate and
Public category.
The award was presented last night to the charity's
Communications team and public relations agency Trimedia, at The
Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
Macmillan Cancer Support were given a high commendation.
The PR Week Awards are widely regarded as the
'Oscars' of the public relations world, with
fierce competition between PR agencies, charities and
companies.
Brain Donor Appeal a huge success
We are absolutely delighted to have won not one, but two highly prestigious awards for the Brain Donor Appeal.

The Brain Donor Appeal, held in April 2009 during
Parkinson's Awareness Week has been a
huge success. It exceeded its target of doubling the
number of people on the brain donor
register and raising awareness of Parkinson's.
Nicola Brian, Director of Communications at the Parkinson's
Disease Society said:

"It's wonderful that the hard work put in by everyone

Judge Lucy Harper, Managing Director of Healthcare for public
relations firm Weber Shandwick said:
"An incredibly clever campaign, in terms of both the concept and
the use of celebrities. Really well executed."
