Good luck to our Stirling Pedal for Parkinson's cyclists

3 August 2012

On Sunday 5 August at 9am, our team of over 119 cyclists will be getting into the Olympic spirit as they prepare to take on our 20 and 60-mile Pedal for Parkinson's rides in Stirling.

If you're feeling inspired by Team GB's cycling success, it's not too late to join Team Parkinson's. Sign up for the ride on 5 August from 7.45-8.30am

We wish them the best of luck and hope they enjoy their day.

Not too late to take part

If you're feeling inspired by Team GB's cycling success, it's not too late to join Team Parkinson's.

You can sign up for the ride from 7.45-8.30am on the day at Kings Park, which is the start and finish point of the routes. View a map of the course here.

Volunteers are also welcome to come along and help cheer on our cyclists. It gives them a real boost to hear vocal support along the way.

Tim is helping us to raise awareness of Parkinson's

2012 Pedal for Parkinson's - Stirling cyclist Tim MartinTim Martin, 65 (pictured right), from Fiscavaig is just one of our cyclists gearing up for the 20-mile Pedal for Parkinson's ride.

Tim, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's in February 2010, explains:

"I wanted to take part in a fundraising event to help support Parkinson's UK, and in addition make a positive improvement to my personal fitness. Pedal for Parkinson's seemed an ideal fit as I enjoy cycling.

"I want to raise as much as I can to help fund Parkinson's nurses, which is why I signed up straight away."

Vital funds raised for Parkinson's nurses

Paul Jackson-Clark, our Fundraising Director, said:

"I'd like to wish all of our dedicated cyclists the very best, and hope they will have a day to remember.

"It is vital we raise as much as possible, so we can continue to fund existing Parkinson's nurses, and provide further nurses to areas where they are needed the most. If a friend or family member is taking part in Pedal for Parkinson's, please remember to sponsor them."
