MSD UK to answer your Sinemet questions
13 July 2010
Drug manufacturer MSD UK has now agreed to our request to answer
your questions about the shortage of Sinemet publicly on our
online forum.
This breakthrough is a direct result of your campaign action calling for clarity over the
shortage of the Parkinson's
drug Sinemet.
More than 400 people emailed MSD UK's Medical Director. People
also took the initiative by writing to MPs and getting
involved with media activity, including Briony Cook, who spoke
about the shortage on BBC Radio 4.
So a big thank you to everyone who took part – your efforts have
really paid off.
About the Q&A
This is your chance to get an explanation of the situation and
how it is being managed.
You can submit questions on the forum from tomorrow, Wednesday
14 July. We will try to get answers from MSD posted on the forum
the following week.
You will also be able to submit anonymous questions via our
website. Look out for more details tomorrow.
Depending on the number of questions received we may need to
pick representative questions to be publicly answered on the
forum.
What else will MSD UK do?
MSD UK has also agreed to keep people informed about the
situation by putting an insert in our bulletin for our
local groups. They will also write an
article for our members’ magazine, The
Parkinson.
Get involved
If you have suggestions about how MSD UK can improve
communication with people affected by the Sinemet shortage, make
sure you get involved with the Q&A and take this chance to have
your say.
