Parkinson's on ITV's This Morning

21 April 2010

On Tuesday 20 April Karen Rose and her husband Mike joined Dr Chris Steele on ITV’s This Morning with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Personal account of living with Parkinson's

Karen and Mike gave a personal account of living with Parkinson’s and the impact of the condition on their lives. Karen spoke about how her Parkinson’s symptoms can change throughout the day and the adjustments that they have made to their lives.

Karen, who lives in Bristol, experienced Parkinson’s symptoms from the age of 34 and was eventually diagnosed 8 years ago at 39. She now supports other younger people through her local branch of Parkinson’s UK

She spoke about how she found support and guidance through meeting others at the local branch and that her attitude is to "get on with it and be positive".

Dr Chris Steele spoke about the symptoms and progression of Parkinson’s and gave a clear message to visit our website for Parkinson’s information and how to access local support.
