Sign our Fair Care for Parkinson's petition
30 July 2010
We have launched a Fair Care for
Parkinson’s petition asking the Government and decision-makers
to make sure people with Parkinson's get quality care that meets
national standards - wherever they live.
Sign our Fair Care for Parkinson's petition - make our voice louder and stronger.
With the new Government looking at ways to save money in health
and social care, we are calling on all people affected by
Parkinson’s to make their voices heard and ensure that services are
protected and delivered where and when people need them.
Essential services like specialist nurses, therapists and
respite care save money and make a huge difference to quality of
life for people with Parkinson's.
We believe it would be a false economy to cut services that help
people stay independent and keep them out of hospital and care
homes.
The petition will be presented to the Government later this
year. The more people who get involved, the louder and more united
our voice will be – and the harder it is to be ignored by those in
power.
About our Fair Care for Parkinson's campaign
Our Fair Care for Parkinson’s
campaign was launched following
a report on Parkinson's services by an independent group of MPs
and Peers that exposed major inequalities in access to information
and services for people with Parkinson's and their families.
Our
members' survey, published in 2008, had previously shown that a
high proportion of people with Parkinson's weren't getting the
services, information and support they needed.
