Congratulations to our skydivers, runners and walkers

17 April 2012

Parkinson's UK supporter Niki Taylor at the 2012 Brighton MarathonThanks and congratulations to all our fundraisers who took part in events across the UK at the weekend, in the lead up to Parkinson's Awareness Week 2012 this week.

Events included the Brighton and Paris Marathons, our Quayside Walk in Newcastle, Stroll Stormont in Belfast and Colne Valley Walk in Buckinghamshire.

We also had a 28-strong team of skydivers jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet.

We hope to have raised £25,000 from the event at Netheravon Airfield in Wiltshire.

Niki Taylor (pictured right) ran in the Brighton Marathon for us:

"My father had Parkinson's - he passed away in February so this challenge has meant so much and I know he would have been so proud."

Vital funds towards finding a cure

Paul Jackson-Clark, our fundraising director, comments:

"Without the help and dedication of our fundraisers, our vital work to find a cure and improve the lives of those living with Parkinson's would not be possible."

This year in Parkinson's Awareness Week we're focusing on our mission to find a cure for Parkinson's.
