Stars add to festivities at 30th carol concert

9 December 2010

Our 30th annual Christmas Carol Concert took place yesterday evening with over 800 guests joining us for a special celebration of the festive season.

Roger Lloyd Park at the Parkinson's UK 2010 Christmas Carol ConcertHeld at the stunning Central Hall Westminster in London, some of the highlights included a breathtaking solo violin performance of Czardas from Matthew Jones.

A wonderful evening

Hosted by Roger Lloyd Pack (The Old Guys, The Vicar of Dibley), the concert included a wonderful performance from the Wessex Male Choir whose pieces included 'White Christmas', 'We Three Kings' and 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree'.

Roger Lloyd Pack read Alfred, Lord Tennyson's 'Ring out, wild bells' to a captivated audience and BBC News presenter Jane Hill read the poem 'Christmas' by John Betjeman.

Whilst the Wessex Male Choir performed 'It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year', guests enjoyed an indoor snowball fight (real snow was not used!).

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of those who attended last night’s concert

Clare Chater, Events Manager

The concert closed with everybody singing 'O Come, All Ye Faithful', and was followed by a reception with mince pies and mulled wine being served to our guests.

Big thank you
