Future treatments
A significant amount of research is being carried out to develop
new and improved drug therapies (including better ways of
delivering the drugs) to help manage the symptoms of Parkinson's,
including:
Gene therapy
A new approach to treating medical conditions, basically using
genes as drugs
Stem cells
Research aims to understand more about how an organism develops
from a single cell and how healthy cells can replace damaged
cells.
